近悦远来的典故

春秋时期，楚国大夫沈诸梁因封地于叶被称为叶公，孔子周游列国，来到楚国的叶邑，叶公向他请教怎样治理一个地方。孔子回答：“近者悦，远者来。”告诉他要先让境内的人民欢悦无怨，于是远处的人就会慕名而来投奔。
