生卒年不详，籍贯未详。唐代诗人。唐末，曾任国子直讲。著有《咏史诗》八卷，今台湾中央图书馆有影宋抄本《经进周昙咏史诗》三卷。《全唐诗》将其编为二卷，共195首，这种形式与规模的组诗在中国文学史上颇为罕见。
