颜博文（生卒年不详），字持约。德州（今山东德州）人。北宋著名诗人、书法家和画家。颜博文博学多艺，尤以诗、画擅名京师，影响很大，声誉很高。他的诗文，才气横溢，不拘一格，有着自己的气质，颇具个性特点，深为时人所称赞。他的书法也颇有特色，并自成一家。他于宋徽宗政和八年（1118年）登甲科，开始走向仕途，官著作佐郎。但是，由于种种原因，特别是官场上斗争的复杂，使他在仕途上很不顺利，但他在诗、书、画方面的艺术成就和艺术造诣却很高。他晚年被贬往广州，衣食不能自给，穷困潦倒，以致靠卖画为生，其遭遇是很凄惨的。
