大明太祖高皇帝朱元璋（1328年—1398年6月24日），字国瑞原名重八，后取名兴宗，濠州钟离人（今安徽凤阳），明朝开国皇帝。朱元璋聪明而有远见，神威英武，收揽英雄，平定四海，纳谏如流，求贤若渴，重农桑，兴礼乐，褒节义，崇教化，制定的各种法规都很相宜，前所未有。但他性格严明，晚年偏好诛杀，使得一代开国元勋很少有善始善终者，这是他的缺点。
