敬括，男，河东人也。少以文词称。乡举进士，出生于771，又应制登科，再迁右拾遗、内供奉、殿中侍御史。天宝末，宰臣杨国忠出不附己者，括以例为果州刺史。累迁给事中、兵部侍郎、大理卿。性深厚。志尚简淡，在职不务求名，因循而已。大历初，叛臣周智光伏诛，诏选循良为近辅，以括为同州刺史。岁余，入为御史大夫。迟重推诚于下，未尝以私害公，士颇称焉；而从容养望，不举纲纪，士亦以此少之。大历六年三月卒。
