生卒年、籍贯皆不详。懿宗咸通间进士，曾官员外郎。尝游长安青龙寺，题诗云：“寿夭虽云命，荣枯亦太偏。不知雷氏剑，何处更冲天。”未几卒，时人以为诗谶。事迹见《太平广记》卷一四四、《唐诗纪事》卷六六。《全唐诗》存诗1首。
