生卒年、籍贯皆不详。字子文。武宗会昌三年(843)登进士第。是年，王起再知贡举，华州刺史周墀以诗寄贺，起赋诗酬答，思言与诸同年皆有和诗。事迹散见《唐摭言》卷三、《唐诗纪事》卷五五。《全唐诗》存诗1首。
