洪武丙辰，予官禁林，宁海方生以文为贽，一览辄奇之，
馆置左右，与其谈经，历三时乃去。
明年丁巳，予蒙恩谢事，还浦阳，生复执经来侍，凡理学
渊源之统，人文绝续之寄，盛衰几微之载，名物度数之变
，无不肆言之。
离析于一丝，而会归于大通。
生精敏绝伦，每粗发其端，即能逆推而底于极，本末兼举
，细大弗遗。
见于论著，文义森蔚，千变万态，不主故常，而辞意濯然
常新。
细占其进修之功，日有异而月不同，仅越四春秋而已英发
光著如斯，使后四春秋，则其所至又不知为何如。
以近代言之，欧阳少师、苏长公辈姑置未论，自余诸子与
之角逐于文艺之场，不识孰为后而孰为先也。
予今为此说，人必疑予之过情，后二十余年，当信其为知
言，而称许生者非过也。
庚申之秋，生以不见大母久，将归省焉，予深惜其去，为
赋是诗。
昔在词垣时，英材常骏奔。
水碧与金膏，价重骇见闻。
终然无根蒂，敛散空中云。
方生海上来，玉栗而春温。
袖携絺绣书，面带黼黻纹。
揖逊入礼域，陈义陵秋旻。
同餐太仓米，共勘典与坟。
潜将索幽邃，穹欲攀嶙峋。
蹈雪忽言别，涉险涛江津。
梅花似相怜，沿途慰孤颦。
湛恩来九天，悯吾发如银。
特敕还故山，许与烟霞亲。
生闻抱经来，处此寂寞滨。
莽苍叩大始，溟涬穷无垠。
宇宙所管摄，载籍所敷陈。
巨细钩钳之，若大乐建均。
律吕按高下，宫商肃君臣。

真儒在用世，宁能滞弥文。
文繁必丧质，适中乃彬彬。
有虞号多士，九官展经纶。
惟时亮天工，外夷悉来宾。
不闻有著书，鼓荡摩乾坤。
生乃周容刀，生乃鲁玙璠。
道贵器乃贵，何须事空言。
孳孳务践行，勿负七尺身。
敬义以为衣，忠信以为冠。
慈仁以为佩，廉知以为鞶。
特立睨千古，万象昭无昏。
此意竟谁知，为尔言谆谆。
无徒谓强聒，一一宜书绅。

宋濂（1310—1381）字景濂，号潜溪，别号玄真子、玄真道士、玄真遁叟。汉族，浦江（今浙江浦江县）人，元末明初文学家，曾被明太祖朱元璋誉为“开国文臣之首”，学者称太史公。宋濂与高启、刘基并称为“明初诗文三大家”。他因长孙宋慎牵连胡惟庸党案而被流放茂州，途中病死于夔州。他的代表作品有《送东阳马生序》、《朱元璋奉天讨元北伐檄文》等。
