摘叶寻枝虚半老，看花特地重年少。今后水云人欲晓。非玄妙，灵云合被桃花笑。

译文
灵云三十年来茫昧混沌，几番出入于迷悟之间，最后一见桃花终于参悟，得到了佛法真谛，在未上弦的琴上弹奏《单于调》。
灵云为求“悟”的境界，历经曲折，虚度了半辈子，人们应以此为鉴，趁着年少及早悟道。岂但见花能悟道，天地万物，流水行云无不蕴藏着道机禅理，因此，参禅学佛实非高不可攀之事，灵云三十年方悟道，真该见笑于桃花了。
注释
渔家傲：词牌名，源自唐张志和《渔歌子》，是歌唱渔家生活的曲子，宋初较为流行。双调六十二字，上下片各五句五仄韵。
孔窍：心。典出《庄子》“僬忽凿窍”之寓言。据《淮南子》：“夫孔窍者，精神之户牖也。”
得眼：盲而重见光明。比喻由迷昧而醒悟。
了：完成。
呈法要：得佛法之要谛。
无弦琴：未上弦的琴。陶渊明不解音律，而蓄无弦琴一张，每酒适，辄抚弄以寄其意。
单于调：曲调名。
水云：原指行脚僧，因其踪迹如行云流水而得名。此指禅僧。

渔家傲·三十年来无孔窍创作背景
此首作于元丰三年庚申（1080年），是年黄庭坚改官知吉州太和县。秋，黄庭坚自汴京归江南，经江宁（今南京市）时遇到江口阻风，黄庭坚突然顿悟禅宗佛法，故效仿宝宁勇禅师作《渔家傲》来阐述顿悟的法门。

渔家傲·三十年来无孔窍鉴赏
这首《渔家傲》援禅家语入词，以增加其理趣。所演绎的是南岳临济宗福州灵云志勤和尚的故事。
首三句，讲灵云三十年茫昧混沌，几番出入于迷悟之间。最后一见桃花，终于参悟。此用来比喻灵云三十年来的不彻不悟。“得眼迷照”，是说灵云几次将悟还迷。佛家有“五眼”之说，即肉眼、天眼、慧眼、法眼和佛眼。其中肉眼和天眼只能看见世间虚妄的幻象，慧眼和法眼才能看清事物的实相。因此，此处的“眼”，当指慧眼或法眼。“参学了”的“了”，作“完成”讲。
下面两句讲灵云参悟的境界。“呈法要”即是得佛法的意思。“无弦琴”，用陶渊明故事。“（渊明）不解音律，而蓄无弦琴一张，每酒适，辄抚弄以寄其意”（萧统《陶靖节传》）。黄庭坚以此作比，意阐释至法无法的禅理。
词的下片，由灵云之事生出感想，这里所着重阐扬的，仍是“顿悟”之说。黄庭坚看来。灵云三十年的蹉跎，是大可不必的。因为他身上，顿悟之中尚有“渐”的痕迹。诗的末句所揭示的就是纵横自如，纯任本然的意境。

黄庭坚（1045.8.9-1105.5.24），字鲁直，号山谷道人，晚号涪翁，洪州分宁（今江西省九江市修水县）人，北宋著名文学家、书法家，为盛极一时的江西诗派开山之祖，与杜甫、陈师道和陈与义素有“一祖三宗”（黄庭坚为其中一宗）之称。与张耒、晁补之、秦观都游学于苏轼门下，合称为“苏门四学士”。生前与苏轼齐名，世称“苏黄”。著有《山谷词》，且黄庭坚书法亦能独树一格，为“宋四家”之一。
