平远江山极目回，古祠漠漠背城开。
湘兰沅芷年年绿，想见吟魂自往来。
三闾祠鉴赏
这首诗表达了诗人“知己难求”与“怀才不遇”的思想感情。(或者是渴望用世界而不得的感情)
诗人在凭吊屈原时，正处于满怀壮志而前程莫测之际，屈原举世都找不到知己，不容于朝廷，被谗言中伤，敢逐沅、湘。行吟泽畔。不能为国尽力，眼睁睁看着楚国为虎狼之秦所灭，最终投江自尽的遭遇和命运引起了他强烈的共鸣。
最后二句作者触景生情，产生奇妙的联想。(或者虚实相生，超越时空的交流)
楚地的佳卉香草茂密繁盛。年复一年，绿遍三湘人地，那不正是屈原辞赋中常见的贤人君子的象征吗？崩原的不灭的灵魂似乎仍在楚山湘水间徘徊往来。想象与现实融为一体。同样的遭遇，同样的情怀，使得诗人能够实现不同时空的交流对话，一种志士才人被压抑的苦闷得到宣泄，同时给读者留下很大的想象空间。
诗人先写故楚之地平旷辽阔，江流蜿蜒，远山逶迤，再由远及近，古老的三闾祠背城而立，借外景之阔大，反衬祠堂的孤小冷凄，为全诗定下了感情基调。
尾句中的“吟魂”在诗中指的是屈原(想象中的屈原)。该诗表达了诗人复杂的感情，既有对屈原伟大爱国精神的崇敬之情，也有对时局的愤慨之意，还有对屈原悲剧的凄婉之慨。

查慎行（1650～1727） 清代诗人，当代著名作家金庸先祖。初名嗣琏，字夏重，号查田；后改名慎行，字悔余，号他山，赐号烟波钓徒，晚年居于初白庵，所以又称查初白。海宁袁花（今属浙江）人。康熙四十二年(1703)进士；特授翰林院编修，入直内廷。五十二年（1713），乞休归里，家居10余年。雍正四年（1726），因弟查嗣庭讪谤案，以家长失教获罪，被逮入京，次年放归，不久去世。查慎行诗学东坡、放翁，尝注苏诗。自朱彝尊去世后，为东南诗坛领袖。著有《他山诗钞》。
