译文
莺歌燕语预报了临近新年，马邑龙堆是几千里的疆边。
家住京城比邻着汉室宫苑，心随明月飞到边陲的胡天。
织锦回文诉说思念的长恨，楼上花枝取笑我依然独眠。
请问你主帅车骑将军窦宪，何时班师回朝刻石燕然山。
注释
马邑：秦所筑城名，今山西朔县，汉时曾与匈奴争夺此城。龙堆：白龙堆得简称，指沙漠。
层城：因京城分内外两层，故称。
苑：这里指行宫。
机中句，窦滔为苻坚秦州刺史，后谪龙沙，其妻苏蕙能文，颇思滔，乃织锦为回文旋图诗寄之。共八百四十字，纵横反覆，皆成文意。论：表露，倾吐。
为问两句：后汉窦宪为车骑将军，大破匈奴，遂登燕然山，命班固作铭，刻石而还。元戎：犹主将。返旆：犹班师。勒：刻。燕然：燕然山，即今蒙古人民共和国杭爱山。

春思鉴赏
这首诗题为《春思》，大意是写一位出征军人的妻子。在明媚的春日里对丈夫梦绕魂牵的思念，以及对反侵略战争早日胜利的盼望。盛唐是社会相对安定的时期，但边境战争却并未停息。前方将士与家乡亲人相互思念之情。仍然是诗人们吟咏的重要主题。这一类诗作总的来说具有较为深刻的社会意义，内容也较为充实。由于富有真情实感．其中不乏千古传涌的佳作。
首联“莺啼燕语报新年，马邑龙堆路几千”，对比鲜明，动人心弦。“莺啼燕语”，这是和平宁静的象征；新年佳节，这是亲人团聚的时辰。但是，另一方面，在那遥远的边关，从征的亲人却不能享受这宁静，无法得到这温情。上句“莺啼燕语”四字，写得色彩浓丽，生意盎然。使下句“马邑龙堆”，更显得沉郁悲壮。诗人好似信笔而下，但震撼力却很强。
良辰美景，未必便能带来欢乐；温柔乡里，最易惹动离情。“家住秦城邻汉苑”，秦城指咸阳，汉苑指长安。诗中的女主人公虽然目睹京畿的繁华与和平，却是“心随明月到胡天”，早巳飞到丈夫的身边。关河万里，能隔断人的形体，却隔不断心灵的呼唤，而作为心灵交通媒介的，大概只有那普照万方的明月了。
为了寄托无穷的思念，女主人公纤纤擢素手，札札弄机杼，仿照古人故事，为远方的夫君织一幅锦字回文诗。回文诗循环可读，无始无终，思妇的离恨也缠绵不尽，地久天长。“机中锦字论长恨，楼上花枝笑独眠。”上句一个“论”字。下句一个“笑”字，都是拟人化的写法。锦字回文诗的内容。无非离情别恨。锦字诗有多长，恨便有多长，锦字诗无穷，恨也无穷。楼上花枝本无情，然而在诗人眼中。那花团锦簇的样子，很像是在嘲笑独眠之人。
诗的结尾笔锋一转，提出一个意义深远的问题：“为问元戎窦车骑，何时返旆勒燕然？”不问别人而问元戎，因为他是军中主帅：你什么时候才能得胜班师，勒石而还？女主人公对亲人的思念是痛苦而深挚的，然而她也深明大义。她当然懂得，只有彻底战胜了敌人，才会有不光自己，同时也包括普天之下所有离散家庭的重新团聚。就这样，诗中女主人公将自己的命运和国家民族的命运统一起来，赋予了这首诗以比较积极的社会意义。

皇甫冉，字茂政。约唐玄宗开元五年（公元717年）出生，卒于唐代宗大历五年（公元770年），润州（今镇江）丹阳人，著名诗人。先世居甘肃泾州。天宝十五年进士。曾官无锡尉，大历初入河南节度使王缙幕，终左拾遗、右补阙。其诗清新飘逸，多飘泊之感。
