冬天易晚，又早黄昏后。修竹小阑干，空倚遍寒生翠袖。萧萧宝马，何处狂游？
〔幺篇〕人已静，夜将阑，不信今宵又。大抵为人图甚么，彼此青春年幼。似恁的厮禁持，兀的不白了人头。
〔女冠子〕过一宵，胜九秋。且将针线，把一扇鞋儿绣。蓦听得马嘶人语，甫能来到，却又早十分殢酒。
〔好观音〕枉了教人深闺里候，疏狂性奄然依旧。不成器乔公事做的泄漏，衣纽不曾扣。待伊酒醒明白究。
〔雁过南楼煞〕问著时只办着摆手，骂著时悄不开口。放伊不过耳朵儿扭。你道不曾共外人欢偶，把你爱惜前程遥指定梅梢月儿咒。

译文
冬天里白日短暂，早又是暮色昏黄。我倚着竹丛边的栏杆一回回候望，衣袖已经冰凉。郎君骑着骏马，究竟在何处狂荡？
人声渐歇，夜色转深，想不到今晚又是失望。想来这辈子求些什么，还不是因为你我正当芳年，莫负了好时光。像这样受钳制无法欢娱，怎不叫人愁苦难当。
捱一个晚上比九年还长，姑且拿出针线绣鞋，来排遣凄凉。猛然听见马儿的嘶鸣和他的声响。好容易盼见他回来，却是一副烂醉如泥的模样。
哎！白白让人家在闺房里等得心凉，他那荡子的情性却一点不改素常。这没出息的在外头混账还露了马脚，内衣的纽扣不曾纽上。好吧，等他酒醒，定然细细盘问一场。
问着的时候他一味地摇手赖账，骂他的时候他就是一声不吭。饶不了他，我扭住他的耳朵不放：你说你没同别人搭上，那就对着这梅树梢间的月儿赌咒，把你爱惜将来的盟誓儿再给我讲一讲。

这首套曲以写景开始，既交代了女主人公冬夜等候丈夫回家的背景，又借杜甫“天寒翠袖薄，日暮倚修竹”（《佳人》）的意境暗示了她的“佳人”形象。接着让她吐出幽怨和心声，便使读者对她在下文又恨又爱的表现有了充分的理解。
〔幺篇〕中“不信今宵又”语淡意深。一个“又”字回应首曲“又早黄昏后”的“又”，显示出男子的“狂游”晚归已是屡见不鲜。但女子的态度依然是“不信”，这就见出了她的一往情深。“不信”并非不承认现实，而是因为女子有着执著的理念：“大抵为人图甚么，彼此青春年幼。”女子对丈夫别无所图，唯一希冀的就是永远拥有着青春的美好理想。唐玄宗李隆基《好时光》：“莫倚倾国貌，嫁取个有情郎。彼此当年少，莫负好时光。”代表了古人对少年夫妻及时行乐的祝福和理解。曲中女子也是抱着这样的信念，于是她才会一边等待，又一边怨恨。这种自白只有在曲中才能毫不费力地直诉无余，在诗词等韵体中是不易达到此等效果的。
以下的情节曲折多致而富于生活真实。在经过度日如年的等待之后，丈夫终于回到了家，却露出了“乔公事”的蛛丝马迹。妻子追问，忍不住从嗔骂到动手扭住耳朵，然而最后要求丈夫的仅只是把“爱惜前程”的月下盟誓再复述一遍。她不愿让自己相信丈夫在外拈花惹草的事实，心中还忘不了当初“指定梅梢月儿咒”的恋情，这就再度显示出她的善良和痴情。全篇以女子的口吻娓娓诉出，融写景、叙事、抒情于一体，注重情节的戏剧性，无疑同接受民间说唱文学的影响有关。而散曲套数在逼肖声气、描摹心情、表现生活内容等等方面，确实于韵体中占有特别的优势。

王和卿， 元代散曲家。大名(今属河北省)人，生卒年字号不详。《录鬼簿》列为"前辈名公"，但各本称呼不同，天一阁本称为"王和卿学士"，孟称舜本却称他为"散人"。他与关汉卿是同时代人,而又比关汉卿早卒。明·朱权《太和正音谱》将其列于“词林英杰”一百五十人之中。现存散曲小令21首，套曲1首,见于《太平乐府》、《阳春白雪》、《词林摘艳》等集中。
