译文
午夜，明月当空，重帘内静寂无声。深闺里缥缈的烟絮，缭绕着又理还乱的思绪。她独卧在床上，还留着淡淡的妆红。
当年，多么珍惜花一样的面容，如今怎堪再回首往日欢情。当花含露泪、残月西逝的时候，陪伴她的，只有那浸透锦被的阵阵寒意。
注释
⑴菩萨蛮：词牌名。
⑵当午：指月亮悬于正中天。
⑶帘：疆村本《尊前集》作“门”。
⑷麝烟：火燃麝香所散发的香烟。唐人成彦雄《夕》：“台榭沉沉禁漏初。麝烟红烛透虾须。”烟，雪本作“香”。
⑸卧时：雪本作“梦魂”。薄妆：淡妆。薄妆者与秾妆相对，谓秾妆既卸，犹稍留梳裹，脂粉匀面。古代妇女秾妆高髻，梳裹不易，睡时稍留薄妆，支枕以睡，使髻发不致散乱。
⑹“花露”句：谓拂晓前残月尚明，花露正浓。
⑺锦衾：锦制的被子。《诗经·唐风·葛生》：“角枕粲兮，锦衾烂兮。”

菩萨蛮·夜来皓月才当午鉴赏
此词写女子的生活、女子的感情，然而词人并没有一开头就让这位女子出场，而是先铺叙环境，渲染氛围。上阕首句点明时间——月悬中天，正是午夜。而着一“才”字，便写出夜来已久，明月才渐渐升到中天的情味。此为卧床之人所见，亦为卧床之人所感。看“无人语”三字，正与《菩萨蛮·南园满地堆轻絮》下阕首句中“无言匀睡脸”的“无言”相同，旨在表达这位女子并非不欲言，而是无人与之言的意思。由此可知，她在夜深人静、众人皆睡的时候却独独孤枕难眠。三句写“麝烟长”，一来可见闺阁内静的连一丝风也没有，原本应该袅娜弥漫的烟霭如今都凝成了一条笔直的烟缕；二来，烟缕也是思绪的象征，长长不绝的烟缕正如绵绵不绝的愁绪。“卧时留薄妆”一句“卧时”一语颇可玩味：“卧时”所讲的是过去时，可能想暗示这位女子已经躺下“睡觉”很久了。此句“留”字，也透出女子无心卸妆的情态。古代女子晨起梳妆，临寝卸妆，只因心绪不宁，才迟迟卸妆，卸时又漫不经心，故仍留有薄妆。
转入下阕，时间跳转到月沉星移的拂晓前。过片逐渐透过氛围的描写，接触到女主人公的内心感情。月到中天，夜深人静，独处深闺，耿耿难寐。这位女子辗转反侧一整夜，所思便是“当年还自惜”的种种过往。其中当有不少烦恼，不少辛酸苦辣，想到这些，她不敢再想下去，因为越想越感到痛苦，于是发出“往事那堪忆”的叹息。其实更加不堪的而是现在。由此可见她如今境遇之糟了。末句明写晓寒，暗写心寒，不仅是对如今凄凉境遇的渲染，也是其内心的写照。这个结尾较为绮丽，然寓情于景，情景相生，承上意脉，有有余不尽之味。

温庭筠（约812—866）唐代诗人、词人。本名岐，字飞卿，太原祁（今山西祁县东南）人。富有天才，文思敏捷，每入试，押官韵，八叉手而成八韵，所以也有“温八叉”之称。然恃才不羁，又好讥刺权贵，多犯忌讳，取憎于时，故屡举进士不第，长被贬抑，终生不得志。官终国子助教。精通音律。工诗，与李商隐齐名，时称“温李”。其诗辞藻华丽，秾艳精致，内容多写闺情。其词艺术成就在晚唐诸词人之上，为“花间派”首要词人，对词的发展影响较大。在词史上，与韦庄齐名，并称“温韦”。存词七十余首。后人辑有《温飞卿集》及《金奁集》。
