雪洗虏尘静，风约楚云留。何人为写悲壮，吹角古城楼。湖海平生豪气，关塞如今风景，剪烛看吴钩。剩喜燃犀处，骇浪与天浮。
忆当年，周与谢，富春秋，小乔初嫁，香囊未解，勋业故优游。赤壁矶头落照，肥水桥边衰草，渺渺唤人愁。我欲乘风去，击楫誓中流。
水调歌头·和庞佑父鉴赏
绍兴三十一年冬，虞允文击溃金主完颜亮的部队于采石矶，这是一次关系到南宋朝廷生死存亡的重要战役，朝野振奋，国人欢呼，张孝祥怀着激动的心情，写了本词。
上片叙事。起首“雪洗虏尘静”充满胜利的痛快与喜悦，为全篇的情绪定调。采石之胜，具有重要的历史意义，洗雪“靖康之耻”，释解宋人痛失家国之恨，所以词人笔调轻快而充满了豪情，同时他为自己因受风云之阻未能奔赴前线而十分遣憾。“何人”二句，写他兴高采烈地命人吹奏军乐，欢庆胜利，然后用一系列的典故抒写怀抱。“湖海”三句，说明自己平生具有豪情壮志，对中原沦丧感到痛心，渴望恢复中原，目睹山河之异，亟欲一展平生抱负。夜间燃烛抚摸宝剑，心潮难平，想到曾在采石矶战胜金军，就如当年温峤燃烛照妖一样使金兵现出原形，心中就十分高兴。
下片抒情。开头巧妙地举出两大战役的名将，破曹的周瑜和击溃苻坚的谢玄以喻虞允文。虞和他们一样年丰力强而战功卓著，都是从容不迫地建立了功业。而现在物换斗移，时过境迁，他们的功业，已成历史陈迹，空余古战场供人凭吊。
当前江淮失地尚待收复，词人希望自己能奔赴战场，借宗悫乘风破浪和祖逖中流击楫的故事，表达了自己报效国家的愿望，回应上片“风约楚云留”，以激昂奋发的情绪振起全篇，使全词结束在慷慨悲壮的激情之中。
全词闪耀着时代的光彩，将历史人物和历史事实融入词中，自然贴切，舒卷自如。词人壮怀激烈，忧国情深，是一首洋溢着胜利喜悦抒发爱国激情的壮词。

张孝祥（1132年－1169年），字安国，号于湖居士，汉族，简州（今属四川）人，生于明州鄞县。宋朝词人。著有《于湖集》40卷、《于湖词》1卷。其才思敏捷，词豪放爽朗，风格与苏轼相近，孝祥“尝慕东坡，每作为诗文，必问门人曰：‘比东坡如何？’”
