译文
烟波渺渺，垂柳依依，芳草萋萋蔓延至天际，远处斜横着几间茅屋，在夕阳余辉的映照中又飞舞着片片杏花。江南的春天已经过去，离人愁思萦绕；汀州长满了蘋花，心上人还未回还。
注释
江南春：词牌名。
柳依依：化用《诗经·小雅·采薇》诗句：“昔我往矣，杨柳依依。”
芳草远：化用《楚辞·招隐士》句：“王孙游兮不归，春草生兮萋萋。”
蘋满汀洲：代指春末夏初的时令。蘋：一种水生植物，也叫四叶菜、田字草。汀州：水中的小块陆地。
江南春·波渺渺鉴赏
南朝梁柳恽《江南曲》曰：“汀洲采白蘋，日暖江南春。洞庭有归客，潇湘逢故人。故人何不返，春华复应晚。不道新知乐，只言行路远。”寇莱公对此诗似乎特有所爱，在他的诗词中一再化用其意。如所作《夜度娘》诗曰：“烟波渺渺一千里，白苹香散东风起。日暮汀洲一望时，柔情不断如春水。”题下自注云：“追思柳恽汀洲之咏，尚有余妍，因书一绝。”这首词，也明显地由柳恽汀洲诗化出，写女子怀人之情。
此词以清丽宛转、柔美多情的笔触，以景起，以情结，以景寄情，情景交融，抒写了女子怀人伤春的情愫。
起首四句勾勒出一幅江南暮春图景：一泓春水，烟波渺渺，岸边杨柳，柔条飘飘。那绵绵不尽的萋萋芳草蔓伸到遥远的天涯。夕阳映照下，孤零零的村落阒寂无人，只见纷纷凋谢的杏花飘飞满地。以上四句含有丰富的意蕴和情思。“波渺渺”，水悠悠，含有佳人望穿秋水的深情。“柳依依”，使人触目伤怀，想起当年长亭惜别之时。“孤村”句说明主人公心情之孤寂，“斜阳”句则包含有“无可奈何花落去”的凄凉和感伤。
结拍两句直抒胸臆。前面作者花了很大力气，连续四句都是写景，实际上就是为了说出“江南春尽离肠断”这一层意思。因为有了前面写景的层层渲染铺垫，这句直抒胸臆之语，才显得情深意挚。接着又写“蘋满汀洲人未归”，将女主人公的离愁抒写得淋漓尽致，使人感觉到她的青春年华正在孤寂落寞的漫长等待中流逝。

莱国忠愍公寇准（961-1023），字平仲。汉族，华州下邽(今陕西渭南）人。北宋政治家﹑诗人。太平兴国五年进士，授大理评事，知归州巴东、大名府成安县。天禧元年，改山南东道节度使，再起为相（中书侍郎兼吏部尚书、同平章事、景灵宫使）。天圣元年 (1023) 九月，又贬寇准衡州司马，是时寇准病笃，诏至，抱病赴衡州（今衡阳）任，病故于竹榻之上，妻子宋氏奏乞归葬故里。皇佑四年，诏翰林学士孙抃撰神道碑，帝为篆其首曰“旌忠”。寇准善诗能文，七绝尤有韵味，今传《寇忠愍诗集》三卷。
