秋日登郡楼望赞皇山感而成咏创作背景
《秋日登郡楼望赞皇山感而成咏》作于文宗大和四年（830年），诗人任滑州刺史时。当时诗人登楼远眺故乡之赞皇山，不禁感慨系之，吟成此诗。

秋日登郡楼望赞皇山感而成咏鉴赏
诗的前四句用对比的手法，抒写自己飘泊宦游，功业未就的悲叹。“挂冠”，本指指辞官，但这里的挂冠当指致仕返乡，此据上下诗意可知。后二句笔锋一转，感叹自己的仕宦未遇。诗人以飞转的蓬草和浮在水面的树梗自喻，抒写飘泊之感，十分形象。
这两句诗用了两个典故：“越吟”“潘鬓”来说明自己年来多病，经常引起思乡之情；鬓发早斑，功业未遂，更加感到失意的悲叹。邯郸，战国时为赵国都城，而李德裕的家乡赵郡战国时属赵，秦为邯郸郡地，诗中即以邯郸道代指通向家乡赵郡的道路。从“应无归去期”这句看，作者当是马上又要离开家乡，而且此去前途未卜，不知何日能够壮志实现，功成名就，荣归故里。
这首诗在写法上独具特色。开头二句为立论的大前提，作者认为思乡之情，人皆有之。但历观古志士仁人的挂冠归乡，都是在功业成就之后。从而领起以下六句，反衬自己长期宦游各地不得返乡；今虽暂得归乡，而因职事在身，功业未遂，仍不能如古志士仁人的荣归故里的遭际，内在逻辑十分严谨。通读全诗，虽多飘泊失意之叹，但仍然不乏对仕途的热切追求，表现出不做出一番事业就不返乡的进取精神。

李德裕（787—849），字文饶，唐代赵郡赞皇（今河北赞皇县）人，与其父李吉甫均为晚唐名相。唐文宗时，受李宗闵、牛僧儒等牛党势力倾轧，由翰林学士出为浙西观察使。太和七年，入相，复遭奸臣郑注、李训等人排斥，左迁。唐武宗即位后，李德裕再度入相，执政期间外平回鹘、内定昭义、裁汰冗官、协助武宗灭佛，功绩显赫。会昌四年八月，进封太尉、赵国公。唐武宗与李德裕之间的君臣相知成为晚唐之绝唱。后唐宣宗即位，李德裕由于位高权重，五贬为崖州司户。李德裕两度为相，太和年间为相1年8个月，会昌年间为相5年7个月，两次为相7年3个月。
