译文
街头鼓声雷动，皇城缓缓而开，赴朝庭应试科举的士子回来了。凤鸟衔着金榜从云彩中出来，顿时金鼓之声大作，让人间平地响起了雷声。
莺已飞迁，龙已化成，一夜之间满城车响马喧。家家户户神仙般的美人、小姐都聚在楼阁上，争着那登科中榜、一飞冲天的状元郎。
注释
喜迁莺：词牌名，又名《鹤冲天》、《万年枝》、《春光好》等。
禁城：宫城。
人回：指应考举人看榜归来。
凤衔：即凤凰衔书，谓传达皇帝诏令，公布本科新登进士名册。
莺迁：古代常以嘤鸣出谷之鸟为黄莺，指登第，或为升擢、迁居的颂词。
龙化：如龙兴起，发迹飞腾。
神仙：这里指美女。唐代进士科放榜时，富贵人家即忙于从中择婿。
鹤冲天：喻进士及第者从此一步登天。

喜迁莺·街鼓动创作背景
此词作于唐昭宗乾宁元年（894年），时年五十九岁的韦庄进士及第。在乍听及第佳讯之际，簪花游街时被众人争睹，这种欢闹喧急的景象使得词人感到十分欣喜，进而志得意满、自我陶醉，所以写下这首词。

喜迁莺·街鼓动鉴赏
这首词写应试科举放榜时的热闹场面和词人进士及第后的兴奋与得意之情，一派升平气象。
上片以浓墨重彩着力表现科举之日举子等待放榜的热闹场景，“天上探人回”写从朝廷应试而归。“凤衔金榜出云来”比喻天子授金榜，“平地一声雷”较为形象地刻画出男子得知放榜时自己已经金榜题名时内心极度的狂喜之情，突如其来的喜讯，让他多年的艰辛有所收获，恍惚之间产生飘飘欲仙的感觉。
下片描摹新科进士簪花游街拜府之时被众人争睹的场景，“莺已迁，龙已化，一夜满城车马”三句极写中举之人的欢快情景。“家家楼上簇神仙，争看鹤冲天”这里写家家户户的小姐们争着看中举的士子们，心怀爱慕之情。从而衬托了中举士子年轻才俊的得意之情。“鹤冲天”这里比喻登科中举的人。晋陶潜所著《搜神后记》卷一有云：“丁令威，本辽东人，学道于灵虚山。后化鹤归辽，集城门华表柱。时有少年，举弓欲射之。鹤乃飞，徘徊空中而言曰：‘有鸟有鸟丁令威，去家千年今始归。城郭如故人民非，何不学仙冢垒垒。’遂高上冲天。今辽东诸丁云其先世有升仙者，但不知名字耳。”结末两句极尽张扬之势，主人公名成之后，获得极大的精神满足。而后来，《喜迁莺》这一词牌又称《鹤冲天》。
作品画面频转，热闹非凡，活灵活现地展示出一个神气十足、洋洋自得、踌躇满志的新科进士形象，以及纷繁喧嚣的现世风情。
