九街头，正软尘润酥，雪销残溜。禊赏祇园，花艳云阴笼昼。层梯峭空麝散，拥凌波、萦翠袖。叹年端、连环转，烂漫游人如绣。
肠断回廊伫久。便写意溅波，传愁蹙岫。渐没飘鸿，空惹闲情春瘦。椒杯香乾醉醒，怕西窗、人散后。暮寒深，迟回处、自攀庭柳。
探芳新·吴中元日承天寺游人鉴赏
“九街头”三句，点出地点、时令。承天寺地处吴中闹区，即“九街头”。早春元日，乍暖还寒时候，残雪将尽未尽，道路酥润、泥泞。“禊赏”两句，“禊”，祭也。“祗园”，即祗树给孤独园的略称。传说佛在王舍城说法时，给孤独长者乞佛来舍卫城弘法，欲购祗陀太子园林献佛。祗陀戏言，布金遍地，乃卖。给孤独竟如其言。然园虽为给孤独所购，林树仍属祗陀，故称祗树给孤独园，简称祗园。这里借代作承天寺。此言词人元日前去承天寺烧香，寺内布置得花团锦簇，天上却显得阴沉沉的。“层梯”四句，言承天寺建造得殿阁重重，寺内香烛旺盛，烟雾弥漫；寺中的放生池里水波荡漾；游寺的男男女女身穿彩衣摩肩接踵，拥来拥去。“萦”，有旋绕之意，这里指游人袖与袖相缠绕，即形容游人之多也。“叹年端”三句，言词人感叹元日岁岁有，但是每年仍旧有这许多淑女、士人前来寺内焚香拜佛啊。词中偶句有双声字，必用叠韵字对者，此“叹年端”一句中，“叹”到“漫”八字连叠，则创见也。上片扣题述“元日承天寺游人”。
“肠断”一句，总领下片叹别离。词人在寺内回廊伫立良久，见他人都是双双游寺，而自己却只有孤身一人，不由牵动心中的离愁别恨。“便写意”四句，细写愁绪。词人愁肠百转，蹙眉溅泪，内外俱悲，这是因为离人（指苏妾）去后音讯皆无，而词人思念之心却有增无减，所以他为了这闲情“空惹春瘦”。“飘鸿”，即暗喻去妾也。“椒杯香”四句，言椒酒延年使人醉，GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>情人贵聚首恨别离。词人心中最希望能够日日醉佳酿，天天伴佳人也，然而眼前他的遭遇刚好与此相反，是“西窗人散”，难免不忧愁。“西窗”两句，反用李商隐《夜雨寄北》诗“何当共剪西窗烛，却话巴山夜雨时”句意。“暮寒深”三句，从感叹中惊醒，复归现实。言他游寺晚归，春寒料峭中自折垂柳枝，寄托离别情。下片词人游寺感叹。
据词中“飘鸿”、“西窗人散”等句之意，此词应作于其苏妾已离他而去，但梦窗尚在苏州之时。

吴文英（约1200～1260），字君特，号梦窗，晚年又号觉翁，四明（今浙江宁波）人。原出翁姓，后出嗣吴氏。与贾似道友善。有《梦窗词集》一部，存词三百四十余首，分四卷本与一卷本。其词作数量丰沃，风格雅致，多酬答、伤时与忆悼之作，号“词中李商隐”。而后世品评却甚有争论。
