王元章倒枝梅画鉴赏
“从来万事兼高格，莫怪梅花着地垂。”这是一首题画诗，是徐渭题咏王冕《倒枝梅画》的。
王元章即王冕，他是元末明初诗人、画家，字元章，号竹斋，别号梅花屋主，浙江诸暨人。徐渭和王冕在经历和个性上有些共同点。王冕主要生活在元代，屡应进士试，都不中。也不屑做州县小官，只临死那年，朱元璋授以咨议参军之职。王冕的性格卓荦不群。徐渭生活在明代，也是屡试不中，终身不得志功名。只做过幕客，没有官职。徐渭生性放纵，不愿受传统礼法的束缚。他和王冕都喜欢游历，都会书画诗文。可能正是两人的这些共同点，使徐渭看到王冕的《倒枝梅画》有了写这首题画诗的灵感。诗通过评论王冕的倒枝梅花图，抒发自己对世道不公，仕途黑暗的愤慨之情。
这是首七言绝句。前两句评论王冕作的倒枝梅花图的特点。从梅花的颜色和气味肯定梅花具有洁白的姿态，独有的芳香，她的神韵可以压倒其他花的俗气的姿态。王冕不能再画梅花高高挺起的梅枝。为什么不能再画梅花的高枝呢？因梅花本身的色、香所具有的特点，不画高枝也能展示其特有的神韵了。
后两句就王冕梅花图再引申发表议论。联系当时社会生活里种种不公平的现象，作者愤恨地指出，从古以来，世上庸俗的人看待万般事情总厌恶高尚的风格。这话实际上从时间之久，到事情包罗之广，同情具有高尚风格的人，而对厌恶甚至迫害具有高尚风格的人恶劣世俗加以抨击。正因为世俗不公，所以最后又回到王冕的画上来，不能责怪王冕把梅花的枝头画成下垂到地面了。
徐渭在《自为墓志铭》中说自己“贱而懒且直，故惮贵交似傲，与众处不免袒裼tǎnxi)似玩，人多病之。”（身份低贱，个性懒惰而且耿直，所以害怕与贵人交往好像很骄傲，与众人相处不免敞开外衣，露出胳膊，好像玩世不恭。人们多指责我。）他这样的性格豪放不羁，在当时社会不为世俗所容也就不奇怪了。他的这首题画诗也是他发泄对世俗社会不满的表现。

徐渭（1521—1593），汉族，绍兴府山阴（今浙江绍兴）人。初字文清，后改字文长，号天池山人，或署田水月、田丹水，青藤老人、青藤道人、青藤居士、天池渔隐、金垒、金回山人、山阴布衣、白鹇山人、鹅鼻山侬等别号。中国明代文学家、书画家、军事家。民间也普遍流传他的故事传说，关于他年轻时如何聪明，后来如何捉弄官宦等。
