译文
水上升起的烟雾弥漫了全城，月亮若明若暗，依稀有美人斜倚在兰舟的船榜上低唱，曾记得我们在若耶溪畔相遇。隔着乘风破浪的三湘，望穿了碧水云天也只是白白地失望、虽然在一起的时间很短，情思却像藕丝那样长。
采莲女唱着采莲歌，荡着轻舟缓缓地行进在柳外，夜晚惊到别人鸳鸯梦，那有如何，有人独自到江边的楼上睡觉，伤心不要唱南朝的旧曲，思亲、亡国的眼泪止不住流淌。
注释
烟水：指水上升起的如烟雾气。
微茫：若明若暗，模糊不清。
兰舟：兰林木做的船。后用作对船的美称。
若耶：溪名，在今浙江绍兴东南若耶山下。相传西施曾于此浣沙，又名“浣沙溪”。
三湘：湖南漓湘、蒸湘、潇湘三水的合称。也泛指湘江流域一带。
惆怅：失望伤感。
丝：谐为“思”。
和：应和；跟着唱。
轻舟：小船。
江楼：江边的楼台。
卧：睡倒，躺或趴
南朝旧曲：指南朝陈后主乐府曲《玉树后庭花》。
司马泪痕：指白居易《琵琶行》“座中泣下谁最多，江州司马青衫湿”。这里指思亲之泪，亡国之痛。

小桃红·满城烟水月微茫创作背景
杨果是元代早期散曲作家，早期在金朝为官，金朝灭亡后在元朝做官，官越做越大，心情越来越好，曲中表现的情绪也越来越愉悦，这首曲就是在元朝为官时期的作品，大约创作于公元1260年。

小桃红·满城烟水月微茫鉴赏
该小令上片写水月迷濛之夜，“满城烟水月微茫，人倚兰舟唱”。在作者笔下，夜色别有一种韵味，别有一种神秘。水气与“微茫”的月色联成一气，具有一种朦胧之美。朦胧之中，采莲的少女斜倚兰舟，唱着心中的歌，给人亦真亦幻的感觉。倚舟低唱之人对远方恋人的深沉怀念，情景交融，和谐一致。特别是以荷花比GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>情人，以藕丝喻情思，不仅形象切贴，更把那种热烈缠绵的感情表达无遗。
下片写采莲人的歌声惊破了梦中聚首的鸳鸯美梦，只好深夜独卧江楼，不禁思绪滚滚，热泪潸潸，伤心莫唱南朝旧曲。这委婉地写出了男婚女恋、独梦相思之情，而且把相思的一往情深的GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>情人之恋、故土之思、亡国之痛、兴亡之叹巧妙地交织在一起，把作品的思想艺术提高到了一个新的高度。
该曲虽然在极小的篇幅内容却纳入了丰富的内涵，同时也在于作品含蓄委婉的表现方法，使得全曲有了异乎寻常的内涵和表现力，体现了作者不凡的艺术手法，有着咀嚼不尽的余味。

杨果，[1195-1269]字正卿，号西庵，祈州蒲阴（今河北安国县）人。生于金章宗承安二年（宋庆元三年），金哀宗正大元年（1224）登进士第，官至参知政事，为官以干练廉洁著称。卒，谥文献。工文章，长于词曲，著有《西庵集》。与元好问交好。其散曲作品内容多咏自然风光，曲辞华美，富于文采。明朱权《太和正音谱》评其曲“如花柳芳妍”。
