译文
寺院高出飞鸟之外，青青峰顶戴着红楼。
顺着峭壁来到半空，心中欢喜登上山头。
只觉宇宙顿时开阔，俯看三江滔滔水流。
天睛气朗远望蛾眉，好似在那波上浮游。
烟气笼罩气象开阔，树木葱郁遍布四周。
我愿割断世间缘分，永远去那尘外漫游。
旋风阵降吹过虎穴，阵雨时时飘下龙湫。
寺院之间云气蒙蒙，夏日也觉凉风飕飕。
俯视近处城池环绕，眺望远处三二渔舟。
眼前胜景难以望尽，天宫之上尽可久留。
身为一官本不足道，辞官离去又觉忧愁！
注释
⑴嘉州：唐郡名。今四川乐山县。凌云寺：为嘉州名胜，傍山而建，下有凿山而成的弥勒菩萨像。
⑵出：高出。
⑶“青峰”句：写寺之红色阁楼傍山峰而建，远望若戴于其上。
⑷搏：攀缘。跻（jī）：登。
⑸殆：大概，这里有只是之意。阔：深广。
⑹三江流：指岷江、青衣江、大渡河。嘉州地处三江会合处。
⑺峨眉：峨眉山，在嘉州西部约六十里处。
⑻迥（jiǒng）：远。旷：空阔。烟景：风景。豁：明朗开阔。
⑼阴森：幽暗阴郁的颜色。棕楠：棕榈树、楠树。
⑽割：弃。区中缘：尘世缘分。
⑾回风：旋风。虎穴：与下文“龙湫”均未详其处。
⑿片雨：阵雨。当：临。
⒀僧房：指寺院。蒙蒙：云雾迷茫的样子。
⒁飕飕（sōu）：阴冷貌。
⒂回合：回环盘曲。郭：外城，此处指嘉州城。
⒃寥落：稀疏。
⒄胜概：锦绣山河的美丽风光。端倪：边际。
⒅天宫：天上宫殿，此处指凌云寺。淹留：逗留。
⒆讵（jù）：岂。

登嘉州凌云寺作创作背景
杜鸿渐于大历二年（767）六月，罢去剑南西川节度使职，岑参亦离开幕府，转赴嘉州为刺史，抵达嘉州后不久即登寺观览，写下此诗。

登嘉州凌云寺作鉴赏
作此诗时，诗人已届暮年，虽然历经坎坷但壮志未酬，歌行雄健之风依稀可见。
开头两句，仍保留盛年时的风格。写凌云寺高耸之貌，借飞鸟青峰映衬，突出了凌云寺的高峻壮丽。飞鸟与青峰，从地面上看，都是高空之物，但在诗人笔下凌云寺却高出飞鸟，跃出青峰。起笔遒劲，形象传神。把寺上红楼比喻为戴帽，凌云寺俨然成了顶天立地的巨人。佛寺如此奇伟，现在得以于半山腰攀援登临，自然是“喜得”之事。
然而，“喜得登上头”的喜悦，主要不在登寺本身，而在于凭高远眺，开阔眼界，拓宽胸襟。因而在咏寺之高以后，紧接着语气一转，抒发出“殆知宇宙阔，下看三江流”的情思。如此，从写寺过渡到写寺外的宇宙三江，峨眉烟景，就显得合乎自然了。
身登高寺，峨眉山景，尽收眼底。写峨眉山，一咏一叹，用了六句。“迥烟景豁，阴森棕楠稠。”今日天晴气朗，得以看清楚了峨眉山的状貌：山岭蜿蜒起伏，如波涛滚滚；辽远的云雾似袅袅青烟，使山景空旷浩茫；棕树楠树漫山遍野，蓊郁阴森，一派肃穆。以上四句勾勒峨眉山景，接着直抒胸臆，发出慨叹：诗人眼界高远空阔，触景生情，故有此叹。山外有山，天外有天，诗人看破凡尘，对纷扰的世俗产生了厌倦情绪，希望超凡脱俗，云游尘外。有了这番念头，才把眼光转向佛寺内部和佛寺的周围环境。
虎穴洞、龙湫潭都在附近，山风回旋，细雨濛濛，这是寺上的气象；间间僧舍，如蒙蒙云朵，若水月光，寒气袭人，这是寺中气氛；嘉州府城，坐落山下，片片风帆，撒于江面，这是寺下景象。
写罢诸景，又是一番慨叹：寺美景无边，诗人很想在这宝刹天宫之中长留久住。然而，虽然“一官讵足道”，是“欲去令人愁”，最终只落得满腹忧愁。诗人到嘉州后，心情一直很不舒畅，这在此时的一些诗作中屡有反映。这首诗中说“愿割区中缘，永从尘外游”，并且最后以“愁”字作结，正概括了这一时期诗人的心境。
此时诗人的情绪，显得有些消沉、悲观，写作手法上也与先前不同，不是一气写景，高调抒情，而是边咏边叹，一咏三叹，错综起伏。这大约与安史乱后唐朝江山颓败、诗人壮志未酬的心境有关联。

岑参（约715-770年），唐代边塞诗人，南阳人，太宗时功臣岑文本重孙，后徙居江陵。[1-2] 岑参早岁孤贫，从兄就读，遍览史籍。唐玄宗天宝三载（744年）进士，初为率府兵曹参军。后两次从军边塞，先在安西节度使高仙芝幕府掌书记；天宝末年，封常清为安西北庭节度使时，为其幕府判官。代宗时，曾官嘉州刺史（今四川乐山），世称“岑嘉州”。大历五年（770年）卒于成都。
