译文
在一个月夜渡过七里滩，见到的风光景色奇异无比。我吟诵此词，声音差不多传遍各山。
今夜秋月的光，正洒向桐江。像专为照耀严光高隐的足迹。风景夜露都不是人世所有，我独坐船头吹奏竹笛。无数秋声产生于群山，星月倒映在水中，我怀疑又在驾鹤成仙的梦里。远处传来了船桨划水声，那是渔翁傍着西岩刚刚歇宿。
心中回忆谢翱被葬在这里，从那以后再不见狂放不羁的人，使我感到孤独。流萤静静地闪着三四点冷光，穿过了前湾的茅屋。清净的林中藏着烟雾，山峰高得遮住了月，帆影摇晃在倒映翠峰的绿水里。我乘船随着流水飘荡，远处的白云静卧深谷。
注释
百字令：词牌名，又名“念奴娇”等，双调，一百字，上下片各四仄韵，一韵到底。
七里滩：又称“七里濑”、“七里泷”，在浙江省桐庐县严陵山西边，两岸群峰峭立，绵延七里而水流湍急。
桐江：也称“桐庐江”，即钱塘江流经浙江省桐庐县的一段。
当年高躅（zhú）：当年高人严光隐居的遗踪。严光，字子陵，东汉会稽余姚人。躅，足迹。
吹竹：吹竹笛。
万籁（lài）：各种秋声。
一星在水：星月倒映在水里。严光曾被指为客星夜侵帝座。
鹤梦：驾鹤成仙的梦。
挐（ráo）音：船桨拨水的声音。挐，通‘‘挠”，船桨。
西岩渔父初宿：化用柳宗元《渔翁》中“渔翁夜傍西岩宿"句。
汐（xī）社沉埋：文天祥被杀后八年（1290年），谢翱与吴思齐、冯柱芳等登西台大哭遥祭，并把他们诗酒聚会之所称为“汐社”，取期晚而信之意。谢翱死后，被吴思齐等人葬在钓台。
清狂：放荡不羁的意思。
萤：即萤火虫。
峰危限月：峰高遮月。
白云远卧深谷：以白云象征隐士的高风。

康熙六十年（1721年）秋，词人拜访友人，夜过桐庐七里滩时创作此词，借以记述所见所感。

百字令·月夜过七里滩鉴赏
此词上片专从听觉感受方面写乘船夜过七里滩时的景色。词人重点写刚出发时的思绪、行动和见闻。“秋光今夜，向桐江，为写当年高躅。”这三句交代了夜渡的原因：为了追寻古代高尚隐士足迹。但是，往事千年，夜静天黑，时间、环境变化，古迹看不见了。“风露皆非人世有，自坐船头吹竹。”风景奇绝，仿佛连风露也不一般，词人不禁情动于中，提箫吹奏。接着，词人笔锋一转，集中写吹箫的音响效果：“万籁生山，一星在水，鹤梦疑重续。”箫声飞扬于夹岸连山之中，引发各种自然声籁，在山中到处出现。天上星光，水中也反映着星光，天水相映，万籁齐鸣，甚至把睡着的鹤也惊醒了。“孥音遥去，西岩渔父初宿。”在词人所乘船附近，忽然传来船桨拨水的响声，原来是夜渔的老人，已经收网归去，停船宿夜了。夜已深这层意思，自然表达出来。上片在描写上，突出人物、山水、自然界对声音的感受。以听觉感受来写夜行船的经历，使读者体会到黑夜的环境特点，同时又暗示了月上之前词人就急于过七里滩的迫切心情。这也为下片集中写月夜下的视觉感受做了很好的过渡。从词人急切乘船，船头吹箫的行为，也体现了他愉悦、和谐的情绪。
下片专从视觉感受方面写月夜下七里滩的美景。过片先以怀古引出，遥与上片“当年高躅”呼应：“心忆汐社沉埋，清狂不见，使我形容独。”“独”字，点明了联想历史时的自身感受。由于“独”，无人交谈，只好诉诸视觉。接着便集中眼中所见的桐江两岸，山水景物。最吸引视觉的，在黑暗中莫如光亮了：“寂寂冷萤三四点，穿过前湾茅屋。”萤光虽小，但在黑夜中是活动的亮点，衬托出两岸村落的寂静。夜深人静，所见只有自然界的山水了。“林净藏烟，峰危限月，帆影摇空绿。”林木清秀，烟霭阵阵；山峰高耸，月亮也被挡住。江上白帆，出没在与碧空一色的江水上。词人的眼光，从近而远。先写近岸的萤光、茅屋、树林，再写高处的山峰、月亮，最后写远处的帆影波光，逐层伸延，如展开一卷桐江夜月图，使江山胜景，由近而远展现在读者面前。最后再收回视线，“随风飘荡，白云还卧深谷。”白云在深谷中舒卷，既是词人所见，也是词人的寄意。只有象白云那样自由自在，才能体味大自然的美好。
全词清俊秀逸，气象不俗，宛如画境，以写景为主，很精巧地体现了夜游的特点，所描绘的景色则突出了清秀幽雅的韵味，给人一种秀雅的审美情趣，同时又融入对古代高士的崇敬之情和超然物外、情景神会的独特感受。

厉鹗（1692-1752），字太鸿，又字雄飞，号樊榭、南湖花隐等，钱塘（今浙江杭州）人，清代文学家，浙西词派中坚人物。康熙五十九年举人，屡试进士不第。家贫，性孤峭。乾隆初举鸿博，报罢。性耽闻静，爱山水，尤工诗馀，擅南宋诸家之胜。著有《宋诗纪事》、《樊榭山房集》等。
