译文
小洲边的野荷，花瓣脱落，粲绿的荷叶也已委靡。风中的秋蓼不再青葱，暗红色的穗花一派凄凄。堤岸的杨柳减了翠色，只留下几乎光秃的长条细细。这一切，同渡江行人的旅愁系结在一起。古往今来，离情别恨最是难以摆脱和忘记。镇江城下，西津渡口，北固山头：一路上我都惆怅不已。
注释
瓜洲：在江苏邗江县南之运河入长江处，与镇江隔岸相对，为著名的古渡口。
蓼：植物名，生水边，开鞭穗状小花。
南徐：今江苏镇江市丹徒县。
西津渡：一名金陵渡，在镇江城西蒜山下的长江边。
北固：山名，在镇江市内长江岸上，为著名的古要塞与名胜地。

水仙子·渡瓜洲鉴赏
长江素称天堑，横渡决无今日交通之便捷。所以古人渡江之时，无不心潮澎湃，产生各种各样不可名状的愁情。作者此时是从北岸的瓜洲渡往对岸，自然也不例外。
不过，该篇同同类作品渡江伊始即心绪联翩的通常作法不同，它选择表现的区段是“近岸”与“上岸”的部分。起首三句鼎足对，分写了洲渚、江滩、堤岸，虽也是由远及近，却已是渡行的结束，且所着笔描绘的，是举目所见的由植物所呈现的萧瑟秋景。这就使该曲有别于以表现大江江面为主的渡江之作，不以雄奇险豪为目的，而更多了一种冷落衰凉的旅愁情味。
“堤柳绿减长条瘦”，是“渚莲”、“风蓼”萧索风景的延伸，也是此时距诗人最近的感受对象。作者遂以此为过渡，生发出离情别意的感慨。“今古悠悠”是从时间着笔，而继后的三处镇江地名则从空间入手，两相综合，便将别离之恨从秋景的细部拓展弥漫开来，有一种触目皆愁、挥之不去的意味。行程已经结束，而“别离情”却紧萦心头，这就写出了“渡瓜洲”的心绪。可见起首三句的景语，虽然局面不大，却有赋中见兴的效果。赵善庆所作散曲多为写景小令，而其笔下景语多近寒瘦，有孟郊、贾岛的风格。这在元散曲中虽不多见，却也别具一种特色。

赵善庆（？-1345年后），元代文学家。一作赵孟庆，字文贤，一作文宝，饶州乐平（今江西乐平县）人。《录鬼簿》说他「善卜术，任阴阳学正」。著杂剧《教女兵》、《村学堂》八种，均佚。散曲存小令二十九首。《太和正音谱》称其曲「如蓝田美玉」。
