译文
迎着西风，疏疏落落飞来北雁几只，这让我回想起有关南朝兴亡的悠久往事。铺开华美的信纸，想写几句知心的话语，却只是停住笔尖半天也没有什么奇妙的才思。往日兴致高时，写文章都是一挥而就毫无瑕疵，今天却病恹恹的萎蘼不振，才刚写下“相思”两个字。
注释
正宫：宫调名。十二宫调之一。塞鸿秋：曲牌名。全曲七句，押六个仄声韵。
战西风：迎着西风。宾鸿：即鸿雁，大雁。大雁秋则南来，春则北往，过往如宾，故曰“宾鸿”。
南朝：指中国历史上宋、齐、梁、陈四朝，它们都是建都在南方的建康（今南京市）。吴
花笺：精致华美的纸，多供题咏书札之用。徐陵《玉台新咏序》：“五色花笺，河北胶东之纸。”
霜毫：白兔毛做的、色白如霜的毛笔。
一扫无瑕（xiá）疵（cī）：一挥而就，没有毛病。瑕疵，玉上的斑点，引申为缺点或毛病。
病厌厌：即“病恹恹”，病得精神萎靡不振的样子。

塞鸿秋·代人作创作背景
这是替别人而写的一首曲子。诗文中的“代作”，往往是应主人或友人之命而效劳；散曲则不同，多为文人代女子捉刀，因为旧时的女子识字不多。这首曲子就是使用女子的口吻，描绘她展开花笺写信的一段情节，表现其秋日相思之情。由于资料所限，其具体创作时间难以确证。

塞鸿秋·代人作鉴赏
这首曲子描摹一个失恋者给恋人写情书的情景。作者用两三句话就勾勒出失恋者少情没绪的典型神态，手法新颖别致。
曲子首句按照诗曲见景生情、托物寄兴的习惯思路，先形象地勾画出一幅萧瑟凄凉的深秋雁空图，为下文抒写作情感铺垫。领头字“战”，既可解为寒战、抖索，也可解为挣扎、抗争。“战”字总领全篇，营造出一派秋日肃杀之气。西风也好，鸿雁也好，全由这“战”字的点染，涂上灰冷的色调，赋以情感的分量。
次句写萧瑟秋景所激起的悲秋心绪，“感起我南朝千古伤心事”。但作品却故意不直说“伤心事”的具体内涵，而采用了欲擒故纵、跌宕起伏的表达方式。先是“展花笺欲写几句知心事”，打算向知心的人儿写信，这就使人想到主人公之所以见雁伤心，必定与雁能传书的因素有关，其“伤心事”也必然包含在“知心事”中。“欲写”，信纸也已经铺好了，但其结果是来了个“停霜毫”，一字都没写出来。这就产生了全曲的第一层波折。
主人公自言“半晌无才思”，看来此时写信是心有余而力不足，曲中偏偏又出现第五、六句对“往常得兴时”的补叙。“一扫无瑕疵”，生动地描绘了往常行文作曲文思敏捷的程度，与上句“停霜毫半晌无才思”形成鲜明、强烈的对比。今昔的这种反差，就形成了第二层波折。
末句又从“往常”返回到“今日”，花笺上终于勉强写了，但只有两个字：“相思。”“病厌厌”与“得兴时”，“两个相思字”与“一扫无瑕疵”的鲜明对照，又构成了第三层波折。“今日个病厌厌刚写下两个相思字”，说明前时的“伤心”，正是深深的离恨与苦苦的相思。

贯云石(1286～1324) 元代散曲作家。字浮岑，号成斋，疏仙，酸斋。出身高昌回鹘畏吾人贵胄，祖父阿里海涯为元朝开国大将。原名小云石海涯，因父名贯只哥，即以贯为姓。自号酸斋。初因父荫袭为两淮万户府达鲁花赤，让爵于弟，北上从姚燧学。仁宗时拜翰林侍读学士、中奉大夫，知制诰同修国史。不久称疾辞官，隐于杭州一带，改名“易服”，在钱塘卖药为生，自号“芦花道人”。今人任讷将他的散曲与自号“甜斋”。
