译文
我每日里携杖云游四海为家，秋夜赏月，春日品花。逢人见事不再起憎爱之心，把自己的身心都交付大自然的山水云霞。
飘飘然来去随心所欲，有时到酒肆里打酒，有时到萧寺里讨茶。我就像一只黄鹂栖飞不定，不知道明天又落到了谁家。

先生：作者的自称。 筇（qióng）杖：即竹杖。
把住：控制住。
放行：出行。
旗亭：代指酒楼。
萧寺：佛寺。
朝中措·先生筇杖是生涯创作背景
靖康之难以前，朱敦儒寄情山水，放浪林泉，过着悠闲自得的隐逸生活。他早年乐于游山玩水、性喜饮酒吟诗的闲散生活以及傲视王侯，不肯摧眉折腰的疏狂性格，因此作下此词。

朝中措·先生筇杖是生涯鉴赏
这首词是朱敦儒的晚年之作，全词表现了一种出尘旷达的悠闲境界。
“先生筇杖是生涯”，开头一语是全词意蕴的形象的总概括，“筇杖”，乃竹杖；“先生”，乃自谓。词人把自己的晚年生活以“筇杖生涯”进行涵盖，就表明他已无心于世事，完全寄情于自然山水之间。“挑月更担花”写出了山野风情之美与身在山野的惬意。以竹筇挑月、担花既能令人想见他在花前月下悠然自得的神态，也可体味出词人吟风弄月的情趣。“把住都无憎爱，放行总是烟霞”二句仍是承“筇杖”的意象进行生发，前句以“把住”筇杖作为眼前社会现实的象征，词人看透了世事的云翻雨覆，对它们‘已无所谓爱憎可言，后句把倚杖而行作为他对生活的向往，他所行之处烟霞缭绕，不啻是他理想生涯的寄托。词人在“筇杖”这一意象上该凝聚很多思想情感，寄寓了十分丰富的意蕴。
下阕仍承“竹筇”的意象进行放逸之情的抒发。“飘然携去”之句就是写他倚杖而行的处处踪迹，他携着它（筇杖）到“旗亭问酒”，到“萧寺寻茶”，一“寻”一“问”暗示词人生计的清寒，神情潇洒落拓。结尾二句尤为妙笔，词人比喻自己是一只飞止无定的黄鹂，性之所至不知会飞到谁家，朱教懦晚年犹如此风趣诙谐，以活泼小巧的黄鹂自喻，表现作者有一颗天真的赤子之心。

朱敦儒 （1081－1159），字希真，洛阳人。历兵部郎中、临安府通判、秘书郎、都官员外郎、两浙东路提点刑狱，致仕，居嘉禾。绍兴二十九年（1159）卒。有词三卷，名《樵歌》。朱敦儒获得“词俊”之名，与“诗俊”陈与义等并称为“洛中八俊” （楼钥《跋朱岩壑鹤赋及送闾丘使君诗》）
