胡健，字建伟，号勉亭，广东三水人。清乾隆四年（1739）进士，乾隆十四年（1749）选授直隶无极县。丁艰起复，改补福鼎县，调永定，署闽县及福防同知。乾隆三十一年（1766）任澎湖通判，设社塾，创文石书院，政绩尤多。时澎湖士赴试台湾，多惮风涛。乾隆三十七年（1774）升台湾北路理番同知。纂有《澎湖纪略》十二卷。现存诗作俱见胡建伟《澎湖纪略》、蒋镛《澎湖续编》，共三十四首。诗作与澎湖地区风土密切相关。
