译文
九月九日又重阳，登高望远，天空万里无云。
神工鬼斧，山川形成，长江把楚汉，界限分明。
狂风鼓动着江水，形成了一波波龙形的浪涛。
传说中，汉武帝在高大的楼船横渡游览汾河的时候曾经大发感慨：气势何雄壮！
如今的讨伐悖逆的军队楼船气势更为壮观，旌旗飘扬。
洞庭湖上水步骑三军罗列，白羽箭影映射在酒杯中间。
战鼓隆隆震天响，那有心情去采撷黄菊花。
舞动的剑气要把落山的红日重新托起，让太阳重新发出灿烂的光芒。
汉武帝说我给大家高歌一曲，可以鼓舞大家的斗志，有助于压制暴徒气势。
值此战乱时期，我们可不能以陶渊明为榜样，去东篱下采撷菊花。
注释
⑴旧注：时贼逼华容县。题注：《书经集传》：东陵，巴陵也，今岳州巴陵县也。《地理今释》：东陵，即巴丘山，一名天岳山，今湖广岳州府城，是其遗址。《一统志》：巴丘山，在岳州府城南，一名巴蛇冢。羿屠巴蛇于洞庭，积骨为丘，故名。是巴陵即巴丘山也。洞庭湖，在岳州府城西南。《元和郡县志》：岳州有华容县，去州一百六十里。
⑵楚、汉，谓楚地之山及汉水也。
⑶《高唐赋》：“长风至而波起。”
⑷《昭明文选》：上行幸河东，祠后土，顾视帝京欣然，中流与群臣饮燕，上欢甚，乃自作《秋风辞》曰：“泛楼船兮济汾河，横中流兮扬素波，箫鼓鸣兮发棹歌。”李善注：“作大船，上施楼，故号曰楼船。”
⑸鲸鲵，大鱼之恶者，以喻盗贼。
⑹《家语》：白羽若月，赤羽若日，旌旗缤纷，下盘于地。
⑺“剑舞”、“停曛”，用虞公挥戈回日事。谢宣远诗：颓阳照通津。
⑻《南史》：清妖氛于灨石，灭沴气于雩都。
⑼《史记·郦生传》：“皆握齱好苛礼。”应劭曰：“握齱，急促之貌。”韦昭曰：“握齱，小节也。”陶渊明诗：“采菊东篱下，悠然见南山。”萧士赟曰：用武之时，儒士必轻。太白此言，其以渊明自况乎？
九日登巴陵置酒望洞庭水军创作背景
此诗为李白59岁时在湖南洞庭湖边的巴陵观看准备讨伐作乱的叛军演习所作。李白在流放以后的颓废心情在这里一扫而光，又重新焕发出李白固有的光芒。真是老骥伏枥，志在千里，真是老而弥坚啊！

李白（701年－762年），字太白，号青莲居士，唐朝浪漫主义诗人，被后人誉为“诗仙”。祖籍陇西成纪(待考)，出生于西域碎叶城，4岁再随父迁至剑南道绵州。李白存世诗文千余篇，有《李太白集》传世。762年病逝，享年61岁。其墓在今安徽当涂，四川江油、湖北安陆有纪念馆。
