许将，福建闽县（今福建闽清）人。他生于北宋景祐四年（1037年），卒于宋徽宗政和元年（1111年）。嘉祐八年（1063年）中癸卯科状元，年仅27岁，是历史上福州地区第一个状元。其人文武双全，廉洁奉公，深受宋神宗和宋哲宗的器重，曾担任明州通判、兵部侍郎、尚书右丞、尚书左丞等职。
