释元照（一○四八～一一一六）（《释氏疑年录》卷七），字湛如，号安忍子，俗姓唐，钱塘（今浙江杭州）人。传天台教观，深明教律。神宗元丰中住灵芝崇福寺，历三十年。徽宗政和六年卒，年六十九。赐谥大智律师。有《芝园集》二卷、《补续芝园集》一卷、《芝园遗编》三卷传世。事见《嘉定赤城志》卷三五，《咸淳临安志》卷七○、七九。今录诗四首。
