殷遥，丹阳郡句容人（今江苏句容人）。生卒年均不详，约唐玄宗开元二十三年（735年）前后在世。天宝间，仕为忠王府仓曹参军。与王维结交，同慕禅寂。家贫，死不能葬，一女才十岁，仅知哀号。有怜之者，赗赠埋骨石楼山中。遥工诗，词彩不群，而多警句，杜甫尝称许之。有诗集传于世。
