庭前不肯种凡草，种得萱花长自好。欲教慈母百忧忘，期与萱花同不老。
画堂沈沈春昼长，母有欢颜花有香。山中风味亦不恶，频羞鱼笋侑霞觞。
今年暂与萱花别，起应天书向金阙。得官便尔买舟归，为念倚门鬓如雪。
鬓虽如雪未足惊，喜见儿归衣锦荣。从今百岁永相保，日日花前笑语声。
呜呼人生老大儿可托，不种萱花心亦乐。

明景泰二年（1451）状元及第，历任翰林院修撰，右春坊、右中允、詹事府少詹事兼翰林学士掌院事。奉命主持两京乡试一科、礼部会试二科，任东宫讲官、侍经筵等职。柯潜作品 所为文章、平妥整洁，诗律清婉。潜著有《竹岩集》一卷，文集一卷，及补遗一卷，均收录于《四库全书》，其诗冲澹清婉，文亦峻整有法。
